Assistant DA speaks to WCU students about DUI

The following is a press release from William Carey University:

Josh Fortenberry, Assistant District Attorney for Forrest and Perry Counties, spoke about the dangers and impact of driving under the influence of alcohol to three of Dr. Benjamin Waddle’s health classes at William Carey University January 24-25. Fortenberry and District Attorney Patricia Burchell firmly believe that knowledge about the law and consequences of driving under the influence is one of the best preventative measures available.

“Our office always welcomes any opportunity to reach out to young adults and educate them about the law, and the role of the District Attorney’s office in helping to keep our community safe,” Fortenberry said.

Fortenberry graduated summa cum laude from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2002 before receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi in 2005. He practiced law in private practice for five years in Marion County before taking a position with the Forrest County District Attorney’s Office in January 2011.
