The following is a press release from William Carey University:
William Carey University welcomed a new class to the Master of Biomedical Science program on August 3.
The MBS program at WCU was established in 2009 to offer post baccalaureate students an opportunity to pursue graduate studies in biomedical sciences. The program provides preparation for the professional study of medicine - both osteopathic and allopathic, dentistry, and many other health-related sciences. The program also offers students a versatile non-thesis master’s degree that can be used for career preparation in biomedical research, science education, and preparation for doctoral studies in the biomedical sciences.
Graduate students in the MBS program will take courses alongside first-year medical students in WCU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. The MBS degree is part of WCU’s school of natural and behavioral sciences. Twenty students are accepted each year into the intense, one-year program.
The 2012-2013 MBS class includes Daniel Allen of Eldorado, Ill.; Jami Anderson of Birmingham, Ala.; Lauren Auer of Hattiesburg; Matthew Bosarge of Lucedale; Jayme McKenzie Cannon of Lenoir, N.C.; Amrit Kaur of Greenwood, Ind.; Renelle Langie of New Orleans, La.; Samantha Lee of Bloomington, Minn.; Ezra Levy of Putnam Valley, N.Y.; Richard Luneau of Center Point, La.; Chloe Mai of Garden Grove, Ca.; Ajay Mangal of Pascagoula; Don Edward Parish of Auburn, Ala.; Abby Regan of Foxworth; Jennifer Schmidt of Corvallis, Ore.; Matthew Snider of Madison; Halima Stringer of Jackson; Robert Sudduth of Gulfport; Dacia Ticas of Houston, Texas, and Allison Tran of Charlotte, S.C.
