The following is a press release from William Carey University:

(left to right) Brenda Waldrip, assistant professor of education and vice president of student services at William Carey University, poses with Joshua Wilson, a senior social science major from Brookhaven, at WCU Honors Day 2012. Waldrip, who was named Outstanding Administrator of the Year, presented Wilson with the Student Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions to WCU, including his role as editor-in-chief of Carey’s student newspaper, The Cobbler, and the creation of The Cobbler online. In addition to his work with The Cobbler, Wilson is also the president of the Mississippi Beta Chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, a member of the Homecoming Committee, and the student assistant to the Office of External Relations. In the past, he worked as a staff writer and community columnist for The Daily Leader newspaper in Brookhaven.
