Golden Eagle baseball play for Breast Cancer Awareness | News
The Southern Miss baseball team will host the second annual Breast Cancer Awareness World Series at Pete Taylor Park.
The team will play four scrimmage games including tomorrow night's game at 5 p.m., Saturday at noon, and a special Trick-or-Treat at the Pete next Thursday at 5 p.m.
Admission to the games are free, but donations will be accepted. At the end of the series, the baseball team will present a check to the Pink Ribbon Fund of South Mississippi.
According to head coach Scott Berry, the team is glad to do what they can to help out.
"I think one thing that you have to realize is that you're fortunate enough to be in a position where you can do good things, and you can help people who are in need," said Berry. "I think that's the message that we certainly want to send to our players, is that we are in a position to help others, and we want the community to know that we're there helping them as well."
