The following is a press release from the City of Hattiesburg:
The Hattiesburg City Council will bring local government to campus by holding this week’s meetings at The University of Southern Mississippi.
The Council’s March 4 and March 5 meetings will be held in Room 103 of the Trent Lott Center. The meetings are open to the public and will begin at 5 p.m. both days.
“We want students to invest in the Hattiesburg community, and we want them also to see first-hand that City leaders are investing in them,” said Council Vice President Dave Ware. “These meetings will give students a great opportunity to witness interactions between the Council, the Mayor and various city officials and to see how City business is conducted.”
The March 4 meeting will begin with an appeal public hearing, followed by the Agenda Review and Citizens Forum. On Tuesday, the Council will hold its regular meeting and afterwards will hear a short presentation on the Midtown master plan. Agendas, with attachments, can be accessed at http://hattiesburg.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
