Sally-Ann Roberts inducted in USM Mass Comm Hall of Fame | News
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- An old WDAM family member stopped by the University of Southern Mississippi Wednesday afternoon.
Former WDAM weekend anchor, Sally-Ann Roberts is one of the 2012 Southern Miss Mass Communication and Journalism Hall of Fame Inductees.
After receiving her hall of fame plaque, Roberts talked to a group of mass communication students about her more than 30 year career at WWL TV in New Orleans. Several students asked questions, and received advise from Roberts.
Roberts says coming back to her alma mater is an honor, and she owes the foundation of her career to Southern Miss.
"I remember being in a class room at Southern Miss when another alum, Chuck Scarborough came through. I will never forget how encouraging he was, and there were so many people here at Southern Miss who encouraged me. So, it is just about paying it forward," said Roberts.
Other inductees were Rebecca Brown Baldwin, Margaret Loesch and Martha Saunders.
