Palazzo: Obama can't take credit for new jobless numbers
News
Rep. Steven Palazzo addresses students at the annual Academy Day at Southern Miss Saturday.

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- Congressman Steven Palazzo says the nation's new job numbers are a sign that business owners are anticipating a change in administrations come November. The government reported Thursday that the unemployment rate had dropped form 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September.

Palazzo was in Hattiesburg Saturday to host the 4th Congressional District's Academy Day at Southern Miss.

He says the drop in unemployment is good news, but he says the President and Democrats in Congress can't take credit for it.

"In spite of everything the President and this administration and the Democrats in the House and Senate have done to destroy jobs, this economy is ready to bust loose and I think a lot of it is coming from the fact that we may have a turnover in the administration and people are getting ready for some exciting times," Palazzo said.

Academy Day gives high school students a chance to learn about the nation's military academies.
