USM conference focuses on cleaner health care facilities | News
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- Dozens of professionals who keep our hospitals, nursing homes and clinics clean gathered at Southern Miss Friday for a first-of-its-kind event. The Cleaner-Safer-Healthier Care Conference was held at the Trent Lott Center.
Hospital care givers, janitorial workers and others attended several seminars focusing on infection prevention and control. People from Meridian to the Gulf Coast attended.
"The main focus is to try to get the cleaning professionals, the environmental service staff and the people that are involved in cleaning and infection prevention to realize that they have a very important role in the success of the facility," saie Haile Gaddy, presenting sponsor for the event.
His business, Gaddy Janitorial and Floor Care, along with Southern Miss and the City of Hattiesburg, sponsored the conference.
