Major company plans huge new Pine Belt facility | News
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- Some good news for Pine Belt job hunters: A major company is buying up some coveted Hub City real estate.
Federal Express Ground is planning the construction of a new distribution facility at the River Oaks development along the Evelyn Gandy Parkway in Hattiesburg. By the end of next summer FedEx says, the 7.11-acre plot of land, which is owned by Oak Grove Land Co., will be home to a new facility much larger than the current one on Mayfair Road.
The plan is to move the approximately 20 workers from the old building to the new one, and then hire the additional staff needed to help run that new 48,000 square foot shipping facility.
