News

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- The Hattiesburg Police Department will be out over the summer months looking for juveniles who are violating the city's curfew.

The curfew applies to juveniles under the age of 18. The hours for the curfew are 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight to 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Juveniles may not be on the streets or in public places during these hours without a parent or legal guardian.

Those caught in violation of the curfew  will be detained and parents can be fined more than $600.

Juveniles who have jobs where they work during curfew hours are exempt, but they must proceed directly home when they get off work.
