Forrest General Diabetes Care Center presents “Living Well with Diabetes” | Events
The Diabetes Care Center at Forrest General, along with Hattiesburg Clinic, will host a free community diabetes education event on Nov. 16 to help Pine Belt residents manage diabetes in their daily lives.
In conjunction with National Diabetes Awareness Month in November, the “Living Well with Diabetes” event focuses on specific issues related to diabetes, emphasizes the benefits of formal diabetes education and provides information regarding prevention of diabetes-related complications. The event will take place on Friday, November 16 from 9 a .m. – 2 p.m. at Forrest General Hospital’s Cafeteria Meeting Rooms.
Attendees will hear from endocrinologist Richard Galloway, MD, FACE (“Insulin Pump Therapy and Continuous Glucose Sensors”); nephrologist Brian Rifkin, MD (“Kidney Disease Related to Diabetes and HTN”); vascular specialist Brian Sellers, DO, FACS, RPVI (“Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease”) and registered dietitian Amanda Brown, RD, LD (“Healthy Food Choices During the Holidays”). Attendees will enjoy a light lunch and door prizes.
