WUSM 2012 Tailgate Concert Series

The following is a press release from W-USM Radio:

With the 2012 Southern Miss football season just around the corner, WUSM 88.5 announces their lineup of outstanding local and regional artists for the second annual WUSM Tailgate Concert Series held before every home football game on USM’s Hattiesburg campus at the Centennial Green located next to Danforth Chapel.

Hattiesburg’s own, The King Fridays, will perform September 15 at 11:30 a.m., before the Golden Eagles play East Carolina at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Also playing this year will be Dr. E. and the MS Voodoo Kings, who’s namesake is a psychology professor at USM; T-Bird and the Breaks who hail from Austin, TX, and are regularly heard on WUSM; Southbound Crescent, another local favorite fronted by a USM graduate; The Mount Rushmores, a regional indie rock phenomenon with two USM graduates as members; and to the end the season, The Adam Doleac Band, the musical outlet for former Eagles infielder Adam Doleac, who scored the game winning run in the 2009 NCAA Super Regional for USM against the Florida gators in Gainesville.

Performance times vary for each game, but begin three hours prior and end one hour prior to game time in order to give game goers time to be in their seats for kick-off.

WUSM station manager, Justin Martin, said, “We have another great line up of talent, and I am looking forward to showcasing our local bounty of talent.”
