Chi Omega Sorority at The University of Southern Mississippi presented a check for $41,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of its annual fundraising efforts associated with Songfest.
The 61st Annual Chi Omega Songfest event was held on Nov. 29 at Reed Green Coliseum on the Hattiesburg campus. The event featured 19 musical performances by members of several campus organizations. The evening’s festivities also included a silent auction with items donated by numerous area businesses.
“This donation will directly benefit the Mississippi chapter of Make-A-Wish focusing on children with life-altering illnesses in the Pine Belt area,” said Chelsea Fenton, a Southern Miss senior from Mobile, Ala., who served as this year’s Songfest director. “Our chapter is so proud of this accomplishment and we continue to enjoy our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”
